Supplemental Figure 1

(06-6665SupplFigure1.tif; 95 KB) Nedd4 protein is differentially expressed only in plantaris muscle atrophy associated with decreased muscle tension. (A) Plantaris muscle mass in conditions leading to atrophy. (B) Atrophy-induced changes in Nedd4 protein levels in plantaris muscles are specific to hind limb unloading and denervation. Bar graphs of the densitometry data from western blots of Nedd4 protein in plantaris muscle samples from control and atrophied conditions. Each bar represents 4 muscles. *Significantly different from control (P<0.05).
Supplemental Figure 2
-
(06-6665SupplFigure2.tif; 190 KB) Western blots of eight known Nedd4 protein targets identified in non-muscle cell types. Samples are whole soleus muscle protein lysates from weight bearing control (Con) and 7 day hind limb unloaded muscles (HU). Only Notch1 show downregulation with unloading and thus was identified as a “candidate” Nedd4 target protein selected for further study in atrophied muscle.
