I'm afraid that different genres of prose call for different levels of discussion. Indeed, I hope that you, and all of our readers, will appreciate that editorials are no substitute for experimental data. Your own speculation "that the recapitulation of the myofibroblast phenotype during transdifferentiation is consistent with lung injury as lung evolution in reverse" (1)
is a step in the direction of reduction-to-practice. We trust that data from your own and other labs will come to support that notion, and I wish you the best of luck as you proceed.
