Agonists (histamine, thromboxane, or thrombin) activating Gq-coupled receptors enhance EGF receptor-activated PI3K activity via release of Gß{gamma} subunits, resulting in increased activation of downstream targets Akt and p70S6K, which in turn increases ASM proliferation.
